New year, 2 teams

This year the Michigan Servants for Christ mission to Haiti has seen a lot of turbulence.  There was a point when our team would be 20 and another point where we placed the mission on hold and no one would be headed down this year.  After many emails and conversations and relying on God and His plan, we are now 2 teams.

The original Haiti team is now 8 people from 6 churches.  We have all been to Haiti before and are excited to see our friends again.  We are also concerned for the our friends because of the problems the nation is facing.  Google "Haiti" and you can find out what is happening in Port-au-Prince.  When you do google the situation, know that we are not anywhere near the capital and have been in contact with Pastor Voltaire to know we will be safe in Cap-Haitien.  I will be putting up posts and pictures for this team, internet willing.

The second team was formed through God.  Matt Hall of Marshall asked Lynne if there was another mission opportunity for the same, since time off from work and school had already been arranged.  Lynne was able to work with ABHMS and found a mission opportunity to Puerto Rico.  6 of the original Haiti team are now going to Puerto Rico under the leadership of Dolly Tittle, who went on Michigan Servants for Christ's first team.  Jeanna will be adding posts from this team.

This blog should be pretty busy, covering 2 teams from 7 churches in 2 countries about 420 miles apart from each other.  We will try to get posts and pics up each night.  Thank you all for your support and prayers.
