Good evening from Puerto Rico!
Today has been a VERY long day, but we made it here safe and are settled in. We met the Haiti team in Detroit at 3am before we parted our separate ways. We made it to Philadelphia without a hitch- arrived at our connecting gate as they were starting to board. Perfect timing!! Then we started to depart and there was an issue with the plane that would take an hour or so to fix- so off the plane we went (but we did go get some "real food" instead of the snacks). We departed Philidelphia Around 10:15am and made it to Puerto Rico Around 2:15- uneventful flight and some of us were even able to doze for a bit.
I just have to say it is Beautiful here and we have been welcomed with open arms with very gracious hosts. We stopped by the beach after we left the airport- where they have food stands with all sorts of authentic food we were able to try....and we were able to take some amazing pictures at the beach.
We are actually staying in the old church building of our host church, we are very grateful to have air-conditioning.
Tomorrow we are going to a center here where the elderly go during the day for activities and then we are going to work on the farm- we are excited for what God has in store for us. By the way this trip came to be, we know we are here for wonderful things!
Thank you for your prayers! Please continue to pray for us and the Haiti team, that we are open and fulfill the work God has planned for us!
God Bless
Jeanna
