Our first full day - July 26th

We were all able to sleep in today. It was great! After we woke up, we had a delicious breakfast. There were warm, golden  scrambled eggs and pieces of fresh fruit. The fruit was a mixture of bananas, apples, papayas and melons pieces. Later on, we played soccer for about 2 hours. It was so fun! The young Haitian boys played with us. They knew the game well. Also, they got very excited when one of us helped their team win. But, they were very determined to play hard! Other people stood around and watched. This live entertainment is much better than television! Then, we ate lunch. We were so grateful to eat. We had homemade rolls and beef stew. It was very tasty. The ice cold juice was refreshing. Next, we went to the children's church. We met some of the Haitian Vacation Bible School leaders and planned the activities. There were some songs we all knew. When we came back we played soccer again! Water never tasted so good. After that, we relaxed and wrote in our journals, read or played music. Our dinner was spaghetti and meatballs and bread sticks. We had fresh icy juice to drink again. As I am writing this, we are sitting on the terrace, getting ready to have devotions.

Good night and thank you for your prayers!

P.S. Sorry this is late, the power went out so we couldn't blog on Saturday.

  1. I am so happy to see these posts. I'm like a stalker checking this blog every hour to know what you are doing and experiencing. I cannot wait to read about worship on Sunday and your first day of VBS. Just keep up the good work of pouring out the love of Jesus on the people of Haiti and this time the children through VBS. I know Pastor Voltaire is grateful for the opportunity to tell them about the truth, the way and the life that is eternal through Christ Jesus. I WISH I WAS THERE WITH YOU!!!
