Haiti Day One! July-25-2014
Today Ariel, Sam and I woke up at 3:00 to get ready and start our adventure in Haiti. We got to the airport at 4:00, where we met the rest of our team. We didn’t think we could possibly fit all the donations and materials we needed into our bag but it just so happened we had just enough space in our bags to bring it all along. Our flight for Miami left at 6:00 and we arrived at 9:00. Then we rushed to our flight to Haiti, and took off! When we landed in Haiti we made our way through the airport slowly and met our friend Chris who stays with us and helps us out. We then took a beautiful 6 hour bus ride all the way up to Cap-Haitian. Sense this is my second time in Haiti it was so much fun to watch the other members on my teams expressions as they were awed by the beauty and uniqueness of Haiti. When we finally got to Pastor Voltair’s we ate a delicious and fulfilling meal then ended the day off with a song and a devotional. Our team went around and shared our stories on how God worked with us to get us to Haiti. I can not wait to grow closer with my team and learn why God picked us to serve Him together this week. I am anxious for what is in store for us for the rest of the week. Please keep praying for my team’s safety and for our hearts to be opened to discover our purpose for being here.
Sending my love from Haiti,
Madeline Battle
