Day 1 – Cap-Haitian, Nord Haiti
Thank God for safe travels.
We are in Cap-Hatien! It is so
great to be back. The smells, sounds,
and chaos of the airport and ride to Pastor Voltaire’s house was so
invigorating. And I can tell you, it is definitely
not July! The heat is wonderful;
sleeping tonight should be a breeze.
Anyway, I digress. We
had a great night in Florida, Sunday. We
ate an excellent dinner with entertainment from the blues brothers and the Denver
game. Later, we got together for a devotional,
with a nice communion that I think is going to set a nice tone for the mission.
Today we relaxed and rested for a few hours when we reached
Pastor Voltaire’s. It has been such a
long day with traveling that most of us took cat naps. A little later, most of the team took a walk
through the neighborhood with my amazing friend Steve. We got to walk around a Catholic school that was
seriously like a compound. They had an assortment
of areas of instruction, from automotive to tailoring. I had visited it before, but this time we got
to head into the school. It was really
cool. When we left the school, we headed
to the gas station and got to feel some air conditioning. I picked up and enjoyed my first Toro, and it
was great.
Tonight’s devotional was pretty cool. We sang some songs and heard some moving testimonies.
I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
Praying for all of you.
