Hello friends and family of the 2012 Haiti Mission Team!! Your loved ones are safe and sound----and having a blast here in Cap Haitien. Our gracious host, Pastor Voltaire, has insisted that we rest today, as we have had long travels. The weather has been GORGEOUS! Hot and steamy, yet breezy! I LOVE IT HERE! I honestly keep feeling like I'm in a movie, or a wonderful dream--it's breathtaking!
The team worked diligently, while relaxing, putting the finishing touches on our plans for VBS starting on Monday. The guys played both basketball and soccer out in the alley while Lynn and I served as actual scribes---hand copying VBS schedules for the team. I loved the feeling of doing without the now common conveniences of our lives in the US. More time to talk, laugh and be blessed by the Haitians has been very much appreciated. Tomorrow we are off to church in the morning, and then more work to be done on VBS. Monday the real work begins as we SERVE SERVE SERVE!!!!
John, Lynn, Gary, Vince, Morel and I had the opportunity to travel over and see the site where the VBS will be held this week. This was MY FAVORITE experience so far!! While generally frowned upon in the States, we were encouraged to jump in the back of the pick up truck and hold on tight for the swervy, stomach-reeling drive through downtown Cap-Haitien. I loved it!!! I can't wait to try that again.
Thank you so much to all of you who are praying for us, and for those who are curious enough to read this blog. We are feeling rested and ready to serve the Haitians and our LOVING SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!! Keep on logging on to see how God works through us this week:)
