Puerto Rico 2022 Day 6

“When God gives you a view like this to start the last day of our mission trip you can be assured there will be more blessings to come! Philippians 4:13  says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I sure had to remind myself of this many times today as I spent the entire day powerwashing this mansion . Hands above my head using both hands to steady the hose and since I was on a narrow slope I had to be mindful to move slow. It is amazing how God will equip you when he calls you to do something.  We had another fabulous lunch hosted by the family down the hill. It was bittersweet to say adios to Doris and Margie and to Puerto Rico and the new friends we have made.”

“Our week of working to help families in Puerto Rico is coming to a bittersweet end. We are looking forward to being home with our families, but know there is so much more we can do here. Today we continued working on two homes belonging to sisters. We power washed and painted the exterior of their homes. Each sister was so grateful for the work we did.  We very much enjoyed the lunch that was prepared for us by the sisters and their families. Spending the week here has shown us about how much we take for granted, i.e. air conditioning.  Adapting to the heat was not as hard as we expected it to be. Our group of 18 has become a family. It was nice having teenagers in our group. Our group age range is 16-72. We are a diverse group  - young, old, male, female, black, white - and none of that made a difference. We feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We are headed home tomorrow. Prayers for uninterrupted travel appreciated.”

“Vision is not just about reaching a goal; it’s about fulfilling God’s desire for your church. Psalm 37:4-5 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.” As we do the work of ministry, we should continually ask God to align our desires with His. Our final day full work day, the whole  team had all hands in to complete 2 houses for 2 local chaplains in a women's jail, who happen to be sisters living next to each other, Margie and Doris. Finished scraping walls, power washed outside of houses and painted the majority of one house and completed the other. With the push and press of many ( so many tired, sore muscles, and drained by the heat) we persevered to complete the task at hand for God's glory! Had a fabulous dinner made by chef Ramon . Brother Lionel led a devotion from Revelations. Showered, packed and suitcases are loaded in van for 2am wake up and hitting the Puerto Rican mountains for the last time, for many it's not good bye but see you later. Making memories, building Kingdom relationships, and establishing footprints and new trails for those to come next time. ABC Puerto Rico 2022 missions complete. Enjoy the small but special glimpses of our day through captured moments.”
