Haiti Day 5 TO GOD BE THE GLORY

We arrived safely and immediately began our work.

Day 1 we weeded the garden at Bethany and planted new shrubs, greeted old friends and made new ones. Because of the situation here the Pastor Voltaire requested we return home early afternoon (2PM).

Day 2 we traveled to Camp DuCroix to begin painting the new bath house. The camp is located by the ocean with cool breezes and beautiful ocean views.

Day 3 We returned to give the bath house a second coat of paint.

Day 4 We refurbished the equipment from the playground at Siloe (the church’s school, K-high school)

The early afternoon returns gave us an opportunity to make bracelets for a Haiti fundraiser.

Sunday morning we attended Sunday Service at First Baptist Church (communion service). One of our team members, Reverend Lionel Scott from Hartford Memorial Detroit, gave the message.

Tomorrow is Day 6 and our last working day.

The end of our week is fast approaching. Sad as always when it is time to leave but I leave with more memories of my old and new friends. Most of all, I am praising God for giving me another opportunity to SERVE.

We depart on Tuesday for home. Although, things have been calm and we’ve been cautious, please continue to pray for our last 2 days.

Thanks to my husband, family, friends and SMBC for the prayers, support and contributions made for the Haiti families.
