Today, we got to do some painting, not my favorite
activity. But, our venue was
amazing. We went to DuCroix this morning
and painted the new bathhouse. We were
on the ocean with the sound of crashing waves as background to our
conversations. Every time I go to the
camp at DuCroix I am amazed at the beauty of this country. We walked around a bit before we got into the
painting. The paint, and our time there,
went fast. Most of the building is done,
we will continue and finish it tomorrow.
We had to get back in time for Bryce to catch his flight home to Kansas.
Bob, Wesley, Jude, and I took Bryce to the airport, and
after, we went to a Home Depot type store.
I couldn’t believe this place. I
took so many pictures because it was similar to Home Depot or Lowes. It can be a real game changer to building projects
down here. We won’t have to bring tools
down or ship lumber from the states.
There were a bunch of employees there, ready to direct us where our
needs were. It was really cool.
I look forward to our work back at the camp tomorrow. We have all felt very safe. Pastor Voltaire told us that there have been
no protests since we’ve been here. As we
travel the city each day, we see more vendors returning to the streets and foot
traffic increasing. The schools are
still closed in the city, but the water team saw students in their uniforms out
in the country.
