Waking up early is starting to become a daily habit now, feels like getting ready for school. For breakfast, they had prepared some fresh bananas, bread, and pancakes; that look completely different from American style pancakes! I was surprised but also excited to have another day of playing with the kids at Vacation Bible School, because I was sad to have to say goodbye to the children and it was hard to express my love to them due to the language barrier. At VBS, the children were separated into age groups, doing different coloring sheets and whatnot. After that, we played games like basketball, volleyball, soccer, hopscotch, and 4-corners. When it was time to leave it was really hard to give our farewells, some of the kids were even pulling my arm to stay, which broke my heart. Having a good, hearty lunch gave us the energy to keep on going as we worked at Bethel. Some of the kids from VBS were there and they greeted us with bright smiles and waves. We were also expecting a really refreshing swim at the beach we were heading to after a long day of working, and we were not disappointed; the views had exceeded our expectations. It was quite the sight, seeing it from an aerial view was amazing. The blue hues of the water were spectacular, complimenting the blue sky. Although, I was worried about stepping on a sea urchin, thank the Lord that I didn’t. As the week goes by, I hope I can keep experiencing new things and feeling God’s grace on us all.
