I think the phrase of the first day in Haiti for most of us
would be ‘culture shock.’ It seemed to be the first time many of the crew had
ever been to a third world country and observed what its like to live in one.
Even beginning with the baggage claim, we were quickly acclimated to a new
environment and way of life rather quickly. The drive from the airport to
Pastor Voltaire’s was eye opening to say the least. Everything was different
from what we were used to. There is a lot of need here and I look forward to
getting to work. I’m really happy for this opportunity and I hope that I’m able
to make a difference while I’m down here.
