Bonsoir! We are on
the plane and in the air with an on-time departure from Port-au-Prince and headed
to Atlanta where Vince will post final blogs from the team. The weather was so perfect,
it’s hard to believe. I don’t think it ever got to 90, perhaps but it didn’t
feel like it. We had a good week. The stairs at Bethany House got done and our
prayers for safety at the work were answered. We laughed and cried together and
I can’t believe how hard it was to leave.
This year our team did a lot of excursions, and really
different things than we have ever done before. Pamela asked if we could visit
an orphanage and Chris worked hard to arrange that. Not what I expected in a
good way. Bill asked if there was a prison and Pastor Voltaire and Jude made
those arrangements. Like tent city in Grand Goave, I couldn’t do it. The week
is nearing an end and I am emotional and emotionally spent and I knew I should
not go. Hearing about it after the fact, I’m glad I didn’t.
As always, I cannot find the words to express how I feel and
what I experienced. All I know is I wish America was like Haiti. I know that
sounds weird, but I mean it. Jesus is everywhere.
