This is Sam, and I just got done taking my first cold
shower! Yippee! But after the heat today, it wasn’t half bad. This is only day
one, but I can already say that I know how a person can fall in love with this
place, and never want to leave. Though I was timid at departure, and we had
more than enough difficulties on our way here, I am so glad to be here, and I
can’t wait to see what this week is going to bring. We had difficulties in Dallas and confusion about our luggage (it was checked all the way through to PaP from DTW which we did not know until no luggage came off the carousel in Miami) but what a joy to come through the gated area at the PaP airport and see Lynne and Tracy's friend John standing there with the most beautiful smile. Any worries or anxiety we had were instantly gone. I wish he could spend the entire week with us. He stayed for a long time, until our Conscience International hosts came to get us in a bus they rented after their regular bus broke down on the way to get us. Soon after Steve and his brother and friend from Cap-Haitien showed up and it was a beautiful reunion of friends.
This is such a wonderful group of people that we have here, and I know the Lord is going to work in and through us to make a difference in the lives of the Haitian people. Missing my family, but I’m loving it here! (p.s. Someone give this blog address to Dad and MaryLou J)

Hi Sam: So glad you made it safe and sound! Glad you are loving it so far. Helping and caring for other people and not putting yourself first is definitely a Christian trait. Will kept up on your blog and see what you all are up too each day!! Love ya, Dad & Mlou Hugs..
ReplyDeleteHey Sammi Jo,
ReplyDeleteThere was never a doubt that you're right smack dab in the middle of God's will! This brings back so many feelings we had in Tacate, doesn't it? We didn't want to leave! Don't take one single moment for granted...see with God's eyes, feel with His heart and love with His smile! Nothing in life is more valuable than being involved in God's business! We love you and can't wait to stay up all night listening to the stories of this experience~have fun! Love Mom & Johnny
I think I just got some ideas on how to mod my truck... Remember everything that has happened in the past week and let that serve as a reminder that God wants you there and Satan doesn't. Let God get all the glory from what is happening and sit back, eat popcorn, and watch Satan struggle :)

Good Morning, Sam!
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful for you pressing through the difficulties to be where you are. I've went to text you several times to see how things are going. It's so wierd not being able to just get ahold of you! Lol.
Sam, I am so proud of your for allowing God to have control of your life. It is so evident that he is the only One molding your soul and guiding your feet. I have no doubt that you are working with His hands.
I'm glad that you are having an amazing experience so far, and you're just beginning! I can't wait to hear all about it! Soak it in and serve your heart out.
Chris and I are praying for you. love you, girl!

I see or hear different things throughout the day that make me think of you ~ I gave you to God when you were a just a little girl and I wouldn't take you back for anything! I'm so happy that He's in charge of your life and not me...keep sharing that beautiful smile :) Love Mom and Johnny
